About ROTOR
ROTOR resolutely commands the provinces of heavy rock and pop as they deftly venture beyond the borders of both with a sound that could be described as “Nine Inch Nails” meets “the BeeGees”. Influenced and inspired by a wide array of great bands before them; Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, U2, Pink Floyd, Queen and Nirvana, Rotor has made an uncompromising commitment to musical integrity and creative truth in everything they do. ROTOR was formed on Halloween 2007, when singer, songwriter, Kelly Marlow for the first time since age 4 reluctantly broke his tradition of trick or treating in favor of keeping a promise to a friend, joining him to a party. There Kelly met lead guitarist/songwriter Craig Banta. It was instant music magic. Before the night was over the duo had written four complete songs in Kelly’s car. The next day the two locked themselves in a tiny N. Hollywood studio over winter and worked 24/7. Fast forward three months, countless dollar burgers, 26 original songs and a demo later; The band ROTOR - now complete with drummer Bill “Machine Gun” Mickesh and bass player Karin Hallen - emerged from its den as a musical powerhouse with a message and a fervent chemistry as a band, ready to lift the world from complacency. Since their premier on the Hollywood music scene in March 2008 ROTOR has already gained a rapidly expanding following of music lovers all ages. They are currently gearing up for tour to support their new EP and to connect with future fans all over the country. For more information, or to experience ROTOR live, please call (323) 495 2119.
